What I Did During Reading Month

Hi Fellow Fae! How is your week going so far? Mine has been long and has made me very tired!!! This post is going to be kinda short. I had to modify it a little since it was supposed to be posted in March during reading month.

As some of you may know, March was national reading month where we should all focus on some kind of reading materials. It's one of my favorite times of the year. Teachers mainly focus on encouraging students to read at their reading level. Kindergarten was the best for my household! Panda's teacher, Ms. Brandt, would give us sheets to track how many books the kids (the parents) would read. We got one at the beginning of each month. I would read to him in the car before school, write down the book under one of the pictures with the date and let him color it. By the time March came so did COVID-19 so we really didn't get the chance to enjoy reading month in school.

This year I was going to do something similar but Panda wasn't having it. I never wanted to leave the house on time, so we never got to read in the morning, Same with bedtime on my off days (the only times I would be able to read it him). I feel very bad that I've fallen out of reading to him everyday.

My goal is to get back to that. I've almost finished a chapter book with him, "Last kids on Earth". He loved the show they made based off the books on Netflix.

Try to read to and with your babies! They really enjoy the time with us and it helps expand their imaginations.

Life news:

This week I found out that my grandmother on my father's side went to glory. I wasn't sure how to feel. When I was told I got very agitated. I've somewhat got my thoughts together.

Granny, I'm sorry we never got to have coffee in the morning or movie dates on Fridays. I'm sorry I never got to sit down and learn recipes from you or even cook for you. I'm sorry I never got to hear family stories, histories or even ask you questions about life. I'm sorry I was too stubborn to get over my anger and love you the proper way. I'm sorry you didn't get the chance to know your great-grandson. I'm sorry we never got to be. I know you're in a better place and hopefully we'll meet again and get the time we missed out on on this plain. -Max
