Hello fellow fae! How was your work week? Mine was kinda good, almost perfect for a first week back to work from maternity leave. There is a lot of changes at work that I have to figure out and get used to. I still can't believe this is my life that I have designed.

Well...let's say hello to February!!!

Inspiring Quote: "Breathe"

Word of the Month: organize

Book of the Month: Consumed by J. R. Ward

Fears to overcome: being away from my kids. I feel as though something is going to happen to them while I'm at work. It's a small fear that sits in the back of my mind. Good thing they have a great father and we have a good support system.

Something New To Try: Pumping at work; today will be the first day that I pump at work. I finally got a pumping area, so no more rushing home for lunch to eat and pump.

I AM BECOMING: happy; feels different from just being content

I AM GRATEFUL FOR: my sons

Learning: proper time management with 2 kids, 2 dogs, a full-time job, running a craft business and being a good spouse

Finish: Consumed by J. R. Ward

Let Go: clothes we don't wear, can't fit or don't want

Create: better creative spaces for my family

Simplify: my shoes

Forgive: my hoarding (I'm a bit of a hoarder. I have so many craft, art type things.)

Goal 1: Start my workout plan

Goal 2: Finish unpacking our upstairs and organize our rooms

Goal 3: Set a release date for the Etsy Shop and website

I have been working on my branding! It has been fun and a little stressful. I probably shouldn't be trying to figure out multiple brands at once but I've always had an idea of what I wanted each to be. The main one I've been focused on is my personal brand; who I am as a person. Once that was figured out it made figuring out the others a little easier.

A Little Black History: Dorothy Dandridge

Dorothy Jean Dandridge (November 9, 1922 – September 8, 1965) was an American actress, singer and dancer. She is the first African-American film star to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress, which was for her performance in Carmen Jones (1954). Her list of filmography is long. Some of my favorites are Carmen Jones, Porgy and Bess and live performances. While married the Harold Nicholas she gave birth to her only child, Harolyn. The two were very unhappy and divorced. She was married one other time, to Jack Denison, which to ended in divorce. She was a beauty, a class act, knowing actually what she wanted in life. She was a registered democratic and an activist for African-Americans. She was involved in the National Urban League and the NAACP. She went on to glory following an accidental drug overdose. She was 42.

I kept it short so you'd maybe look up information on her but what details do you know about Ms. Dandridge? I included links for books about her if you are interested. I know I'd like to read more about her.

Everything and Nothing

Dorothy Dandridge: A Biography

Speaking of books...here's my booklist for the year. I read 1 book last year because I wasn't focused. So it's pretty much the same list.
