Maxine A.H. Wilson

When I was little I wanted to help people. I was very good at science. I wanted to be a nurse or a doctor and at one point I wanted to be a lawyer. I could also draw and loved art. In high school I wanted to be a fashion designer and move to Paris, France.

I graduated high school from Wayne Memorial High, where I also met my high school sweetheart. I attended Henry Ford (Community) College with him and studied Interior Design. After graduating with an Associates Degree I transferred to Wayne State University to continue my studies in Interior Design and hopes to expand my studies to Fashion Design and a minor in Art History. As life would have it I got pregnant and had to put my studies on hold.

When my son was just a few months old I re-enrolled at Henry Ford College in the Kitchen & Bath Certificate program. I finished the program the summer of 2017. I'm again going to be taking a break and put my academic career on hold to be a mom and get my Panda in school. While at home I put my crafting skills to work, crocheting and knitting scarves and hats.

While in school I had the honor of interning at The Michigan Design Center (Decoroom) and Ciot (Troy). I've done staging for a family friends open house and I designed the basement bathroom in my grandmother's home. (I will be uploading the plan and concept photos at a later date.)

I'm very active in community service in the city of Westland and through my church. I volunteered every year for the Heart Walk with my grandmother, until my son was 2 years of age.

As of August 4, 2020, I'm a Kitchen and Bath designer at The Home Depot. I'm in training and taking classes for my job. I'll post an update as soon as I start taking customers!
