Hi. So March is reading month! The blog I had planned is going to be a little different since today (or last night for those who watched the news) school was canceled for us in The Mitten. So, I'm going to give some reading tips, that work well for adults and our tiny humans and some tips on how to get through these next couple of works (if you're a stay at home parent like me).

Tips for Reading:

-select a book or reading material you like or are interested in

-set aside time to get into your selection (I like in the morning with my coffee or early afternoon)(With Panda, I read to him in the morning before school and I try to read to him before bed)

-cut off the tv and or music

-if you like to have music, let it be classical or instrumental (I like ChillHop)

-try to let people know you are about to read so that you are not interrupted

-no cellphones

-no tablets

-get an audio book (I finished 2 Game of Thrones books on YouTube)

-find a spot you like best and sit there (I used to read in the front door at my mother's house when I lived there)

-have a drink (coffee, tea, juice, water or.....WINE)

-have fun

Survival Guide:

We already had his homework packet from this week to finish (she doesn't grade until the following Monday), so we have that. She also included 2 additional packets with something to do everyday that he will be out of school. We have a variety

of lesson books that I'm planning on doing with him as well as coloring books and books to read.

We are currently reading Coraline for him and I'm finishing Surpeme by Joy Deja King.

I think I'm going to do a blog post on Sunday or Monday with our lesson plan, schedule and menu for the week.

Be healthy and safe!

-Xan
