Hi Fae Friends! I'd like to talk about an interest of mine.....something I've been interested in since high school (other than art) has been Cosplay. I've talked about my interest in this with a few people close to me but try not to mention it too much because I don't like to be made fun of. But....I'm to the point in life that I don't care what others think, in terms of things that I like or have interest in.

What is Cosplay?

noun: the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, especially one from the Japanese genres of manga and anime.

verb: engage in cosplay.

Cosplayers do more than simply dress like their favorite characters, though. To express their creative side and show the depth of their fandom, they also behave and speak like their characters, sometimes acting out their favorite scenes with their friends.

Do cosplayers get paid?

"Top tier" cosplayers might make around $10-125,000 a year. Breaking this down, if a cosplayer attends 26 conventions a year and sells 100 prints (a low number) per weekend for $20, that's $52,000 a year. Minus costs (makeup, equipment, photography shoots) that sounds pretty sweet.
