Hi Friends!!!! I'm super excited to finally be bringing you Craft Sunday! Every time I came up with a topic and was ready to go something would happen and I wasn't able to post. I got the idea to review this DMC kit when I was spotlighting the company on the craft Instagram. So, here's what I came up with.....
Company: DMC
From: Hobby Lobby
Price: $7.99
Name: Rose

The kit comes with the cross-stitch fabric, the embroidery thread with a key to the pattern, a pattern, a needle and an embroidery hoop.

1- You start out by placing your fabric into the hoop, as tight as you can get it. You need it flat. TIP: you can iron your fabric before hand.

2- Select which color you want to start with. There are arrows on the pattern for suggested start places but you can start where ever you want.

3- Thread you needle with 2 pieces of your thread. Each piece of embroidery thread is made up of 6 regular threads. FUNNY: I had been doing it wrong since I was little! If you use the thread as is the project will look thick. So part of the green is thicker then other parts.

4- Get started!!! Depending on what the instructions say you are going to stitch a cross (X).

5- From there do the pattern. Enjoy!!!
JUST ME: When I'm finished the kit I stitched a black frame around the edges. I'm going to be doing something else with it in the future!
When you are finished with the project you can leave it as is or you can make a pillow, add it a blanket (hint) or some other things.
REVIEW:
I've done cross-stitch kits since high school maybe. The first one I bought for myself was by Dimensions. I would say Dimensions is my favorite brand...but whenever I needed or just bought embroidery thread I would buy DMC. It's the only brand I buy!! So to but a kit (for the first time to my knowledge; now that I'm paying attention) and do a review for it was fun! I would but one again! Their threads are soft and easy to work with. It doesn't fray when cut and lays flat on the fabric (even if you use the thread as is). The colors are beautiful!
I would like to do another few reviews on them...kinda like a case study for Craft Sunday. I know I want to order from the website and get them from a few different craft stores.
What do you think of the first Craft Sunday? What should I do differently? Any craft suggestions?
Happy Easter!!!
